Our Programme

Addiction is a disease and must be dealt with in a multi-faceted approach for treatment to be most effective. An individualised treatment plan focusing on the resident as a whole person rather than their drug of choice enables us to treat not only the symptoms but equally important, the underlying factors leading to the addiction. The combination of counselling and behavioural therapies have proven to be a highly successful way of achieving long term sobriety. There are enormous benefits for educational treatments. When an addict begins to understand why they are using certain substances and the feelings surrounding various situations, they then become far better equipped to overcome their addiction. Cognitive behaviour therapies show that most harmful actions and emotions are not rational or logical; many of these are from past experiences and trauma. CBT teaches recovering addicts to find connections between their thoughts, feelings, triggers, actions and increase awareness of how these things impact recovery.

12 steps of recovery

The 12 step programme encourages members to adopt a set of guiding principles called the 12 steps. Following these in order has helped many people to achieve long-term sobriety and abstinence from addiction. The ongoing support groups are readily available and easily accessible in the community. Through the 12 steps, people learn to cope with addiction and the devastation it has caused them and their loved ones. The 12-step programme, in conjunction with holistic therapy and traditional therapies, has proven to be extremely successful around the world.

The detoxification process will begin with a visit to our Physician, where you will undergo a full medical assessment and dual diagnosis. Then after careful consultation, you will start the process that best suits your needs. The social detox model is provided onsite. Detox is the process of purging the body’s toxins and their metabolites attached. The purpose of detox is to manage the withdrawal symptoms safely. Withdrawal is different for everyone. The duration of the process and effects will vary based on the type of addiction a person is suffering from. Our dedicated staff are there to support you every step of the way.

Holistic therapy

Holistic Therapy promotes a strong focus on the individual’s overall health and wellbeing, treating the person as a whole, simultaneously focusing on their physical, mental, and emotional health. Diet, exercise, daily activities, and attitudes all have a direct reflection on our overall health and wellness. The Kainos Pay it Forward Programme

Here at Kainos Addiction Treatment Center, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to receive treatment. Whether you are an alcoholic or drug user you are struggling with an incurable disease. The great news is that this disease CAN be managed and managed successfully, life no longer has to be unmanageable or life threatening.
We understand that for the best chance of recovery this often comes at a cost, and for some that cost is simply out of there reach and the reach of there families. So at Kainos we have implemented a scholarship programme in which our facility donates and gives back to those clients less fortunate than others but are afflicted with the same disease of addiction.
We are committed to changing lives and are proudly donated $50,000 worth of therapy and programmes through our treatment facility.
Please inquire to know more about the scholarship programme admin@kainos.co.nz.
